For designer Salita Matthews you could say that fashion is in the blood. From her grandmother's silk factories in Thailand to growing up in a family of leather and silk artisans, Salita has always yearned to design.

Salita set her sights on the design world after studying for a diploma in Fashion, followed by working as a stylist in New York and Los Angeles for a freelance photographer, and a stint in fashion manufacturing and production in Australia and abroad.

Beginning in 2007, the self-titled Salita Matthews brand is inspired by her east-meets-west upbringing and embodies everything Salita is, exotic and imaginative.

Whilst her inspiration and unique materials are sourced globally throughout her travels, all designs are proudly handmade made in Australia. The slight variations within the natural pearls and semi-precious stones ensure every piece is as individual as its wearer.
